Poetic expression of life, love & nature through choral music.  Selections include Romancero Gitano, Op. 152 – Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco based on poems by Frederico Garcia Lorca, Songs of Nature, Op. 63 by Antonin Dvorák, and Liebeslieder Walzer, Op. 52 by Johannes Brahms

 

Voices

Voices is one of the Triangle’s oldest and most distinguished choral groups with a rich history spanning over three decades.  Now in its 37th season, Voices has grown from a small group of adult singers that performed with student choruses from Frank Porter Graham Elementary School and Phillips Middle School in 1980 to the thriving 130 member-governed and operated choral group known for its high standard of excellence today. Voices performs fall and spring concerts often featuring an orchestra, soloists and other guest performers.

Life, Love & Reflections

May 2019

Poetic expressions of life, love, and reflections on nature.  Selections include “Fern Hill” composed by John Corigliano, based on a poem by Dylan Thomas, “Five Hebrew Love Songs” composed by Eric Whitacre, and “Reflections from a Mexican Garden” composed by Kevin Padworski and based on poems by Grace Hazard Conklin, So Juana Inés de la Cruz, indigenous poetry in one of Mexico’s native languages, Nahuatl
