Music includes: Faure REQUIEM, and song arrangements by Moses Hogan, George Gershwin, and Irving Berlin. A guest harp ensemble will perform on the program.

REHEARSALS – 7 Tuesday evenings, 7-9 p.m.; 3 Thursday evenings, most in UNC's Person Recital Hall. (May 29, June 5, (7 -Thursday), 12, 19, 26, (28 -Thursday), July 3, 10, (12 –Thursday: Dress Rehearsal at University United Methodist Church)

Voices Summer Chorus, an eight-week program beginning late May, is a good time to "get your feet wet" with singing. In addition to many regular Voices singers, we welcome folks who perhaps haven't sung in years or who have fewer regular time commitments during the summer, and both high school age and adult singers. A simple voice placement with the conductor is all that is required for membership. An additional fee is charged for the music packet.

About and History
Voices Summer Chorus began in 2002 on the presumption that there were people who didn't want a vacation from singing during the summer. Apparently, this was true.

Voices Summer Chorus 2011 capped the 30th anniversary year with “Shakespeare and All That Jazz.” Joined by actors from Deep Dish Theater performing sonnets and scenes of wooing, the Voices Summer Chorus gave three concerts featuring music by George Shearing.

Guest artists have appeared with the chorus each summer adding another dimension to these entertaining programs.

2006 – “Gotta Dance” with Fred Astaire Dancers and Cai Flameco Dancers
2007 – “A Soulful Sound: Spiritual, Blues, and Gospel” with Jazz Vocalist Susan Reeves
2008 – “La Bonne Cuisine: A musical culinary tour” featuring Guest Soprano Florence Peacock
2009 –“ The Wild, Wild West” with Native American Dancers
2011 –“Shakespeare and All That Jazz” with actors from Deep Dish Theater
